Global Aerospace Logistics, LLC (GAL)
is an Emirati company focused on creating a balanced,
expert workforce, specializing in aviation services,
for the UAE. GAL is focused on the process of Emiratisation,
concentrating on a superior Emirati workforce not
only pertaining to our specific contracts, but for
the UAE as a whole. GAL’s objective is to accomplish
suitable training, recruiting, and skill and knowledge
transfer, utilizing Expatriate subject matter experts
(SMEs) to train and recruit UAE Nationals to eventually
fill all positions, at all levels in our projects
and, ultimately, in our company. GAL adheres to specific
contract requirements for staffing of a UAE National
employee base, but we also intend to strategically
increase the number of UAE Nationals over time using
a transparent approach to make sure that Expatriates
as well as Nationals have a clear understanding of
their respective career paths, ensuring a suitable
retrenchment rate for Expat staffing. Through GAL
each UAE National should have a visibly structured
career path, mapped to a specific salary structure.
External recruitment (Expat) is used to supplement
the workforce to the established levels for current
work and subsequent training.
The GAL Emiratisation strategy aims to transfer skills
and knowledge from Expatriates to UAE Nationals, where
Expats still make up the majority of the workforce.
We consider Human Resources strategies to take up
skill-based Emiratisation. Our main objective in this
regard is to efficiently integrate and engage in various
Emiratisation activities (i.e. recruitment fairs,
training programs, etc.) to find candidates possessing
required the skill sets gained from educational background
and prior work experience. We also pinpoint existing
skill and knowledge gaps and subsequently set the
right incentives for employees nearing the end of
their careers, to transfer knowledge effectively to
the next generation. We then build from this solid
skill-based foundation, enabling candidates to move
ahead in a rewarding and fulfilling career.
