Officer - Technical Publications

Maintain a complete technical publications library containing the maintenance manuals sets from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) needed to perform Maintenance activities, Logistics supply, and Quality Control inspections fixed and rotary wing aircraft fleet. Ensure publications are updated according to Original Aircraft Manufacturer’s status report, performing inspections to technical publications assigned to hangar inventories throughout a software database and continuous contact with OEM. Process together with Material Control all technical publications requests submitted by maintenance personnel. A thorough understanding of technical publications composition is required. Supports and reports to QC Manager directly. Will also be responsible to: 1. Process all requests for technical publications made by line maintenance, quality, etc, suggesting Original Equipment Manufacturers as a first POC. 2. Support the procurement department on performing the purchases of specific technical publications, in order to assure manuals being purchased are updated and covered by respective contracts/subscriptions. 3. Supervise and coordinate the amount and type of subscriptions/contracts with vendors in order to assure the most proper update of all manuals distributed on base. 4. Maintain a general inventory of ALL manuals assigned to the Master Office as well as all manuals assigned to hangars, quality offices, etc. 5. Maintain constant contact with procurement department to follow up on manual orders and expected delivery dates. 6. Properly distribute, assign locations and inventory new manuals being assigned to line maintenance, quality control, and logistics personnel. 7. Maintain through an internet/email account continuous contact with Original Equipment Manufacturers in order to report discrepancies, revise latest status, and download latest Information Services (SB, SL, ASL, etc.). 8. Perform inspections to all manuals distributed on base in order to check proper revision inserting, adequate maintaining, paper condition, binder condition, revision dates, etc. 9. Comply with all SOPs for GAL Maintenance Operation as well as the Publications Office SOP. 10. Support Quality Control/Engineering processes regarding technical publications. 11. Carry out a recurring training program in order to adequately teach personnel on how to maintain technical publications. 12. Establish procedures to correctly incorporate changes/revisions to technical publications assigned to inventories in the master library, line maintenance, quality control, shops, etc.

Qualification
- BA/BS in Engineering, Aeronautical or Mechanical preferred. - Must have knowledge of computer office applications. - Read and Write Technical English.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing technical publications for civil or military operations. - Technical Publications, Information Services (SB, SL, ASB, etc). - Supply chain and inventory management. - Procurement processes and OEM contract processes. - Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM). - Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM).
