Manager - Aviation Maintenance

Reports directly to the airfield Director of Maintenance (DOM) on all related 2nd line maintenance operations. Carries out directives from the project manager and DOM. Supervises all material and maintenance planning for all 2nd line activities. Responsible for the overall day-to-day maintenance functions of the entire fleet of aircraft in 2nd line maintenance.

Will also be responsible for :

1. Manage 2nd line aircraft maintenance personnel by establishing a schedule and controlling work hours and overtime. Must ensure that all aircraft inspection procedures, maintenance practices, standards, and records comply with all FAA, TAMMS, GAL, and Group 10 regulations.

2. Responsible for the oversight, guidance, and counseling of all section managers under 2nd line and must ensure that all section managers are conducting productive and positive oversight of their sections.

3. Assist the maintenance manager in the direction of all primary and recurring training activities of all maintenance personnel. Assure that personnel are trained on new model aircraft before being assigned to duties on those aircraft.

4. Ensuring that all aircraft are being maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, technical manuals, airworthiness directives, and good maintenance practices.

5. Responsible for the direction of all 2nd line maintenance activities to include comprehensive phase inspections, modifications, the repair of aircraft structure, engines, and accessories.

6. Responsible for the scheduling of aircraft maintenance considering such factors as work flow, location of equipment facilities, tools, supplies, and job requirements.

7. Maintain a close liaison with PC and all pilots to provide current status of aircraft and forecast down-times.

8. Determine maintenance personnel requirements based on present and projected workloads.

9. May delegate authority and functions to other personnel but must retain responsibility for all assigned personnel.

10. Must assure that all personnel have the tools, equipment, and training in order to support the mission requirements of project.

Qualification
• High school graduate, BA or BS in any aviation discipline preferred.

• Must have FAA A&P certificate and FCC license or equivalent with no prior FAR violations.

• Military aviation training school graduate required.
Experience
• Must have prior experience working on military rotary winged aircraft.

• At least 20 years preferred plus 10 years supervisory experience.

• Must have experience in maintenance and material planning.

• Experience with product evaluation and vendor selection desired.
