Workshop Technician - NDI

Assists the Non-Destructive Inspection Supervisor to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and performs intermediate maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all rotary wing aircraft. Will also be responsible for :- 1. Determines test method, and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. 2. Interprets Non-Destructive Inspection test results, and provides information about defects to repair center. 3. Analyzes wear metal content on engine lubricating oil and other fluids, and recommends corrective action. 4. Uses and performs user maintenance on common and special tools. 5. Performs Non-Destructive Inspection on structures, components, and systems. 6. Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. 7. Detects flaws such as cracks, delamination's, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. 8. Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. 9. Inspects and prepares forms and records related to maintenance in accordance with Repair Manual. 10. Operates, maintains, and inspects Non-Destructive equipment. 11. Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools. 12. Ensures lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment. 13. Performs silver recovery functions. 14. Handles and disposes of hazardous waste and materials. 15. Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of the aircraft batteries and related components. 16. Participate in maintenance test flights as required. 17. Responsible for tools and equipment's inventory assigned by the supervisor.
No Restriction
• High school graduate or equivalent. • Must have a completion of a formal Non-Destructive Inspection training course from an accredited military or civilian aeronautical school. • Formal company documented On the Job training (OJT) is acceptable. • Military training school graduate preferred but not required.
• Must have a minimum 5 years working experience in Non-Destructive testing. • Must have a thorough understanding of and experience with Non-Destructive Inspection methods, special tools, hardware and equipment's used in the inspections of aircraft rotors, blades and related components. • Must be able to inspect malfunctioned components and interpret applicable technical data. • Must have knowledge on corrosion prevention and control (CPC) techniques applicable to Non-Destructive Inspections.
