GAL and U.S.-based Spartan College partner to provide high-level aviation training courses to aspiring UAE aerospace technicians Global Aerospace Logistics, LLC (GAL) today announced the creation of a new training program in collaboration with Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

The training program is designed to offer UAE citizens - whether prospective GAL employees or UAE Armed Forces personnel - the opportunity to receive GAL sponsored training at the world’s leading aviation maintenance training institution.

The arrangement is based on a unique set of principles that combine high quality education with customised features. Focusing on either aviation maintenance or electronics, Spartan College students will receive English language training followed by an industry-first technical English course that will run concurrently with the aviation technician-training program. In addition, GAL sponsored students will receive a full suite of student services from Spartan College including room and board, and transportation.

“We are honored that GAL has chosen Spartan from a number of international competitors to be their lead aviation technician trainer,” said Peter Harris, Spartan’s CEO. “We expect this partnership to develop into a long-term relationship as we open the training pipeline for UAE aviation students”. The training arrangements may expand to other technical fields such as non-destructive testing, pilot training and bachelor degree programs. Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is credited with training pilots and technicians since 1928, including students from over 62 countries

This partnership with an American university is the first of its type for GAL, a subsidiary of Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), the UAE’s integrated defence manufacturing and services platform.

“The new training partnership with Spartan College will create opportunities for UAE citizens to gain unprecedented experience before embarking on careers in the aerospace industry or in the UAE Armed Forces,” said Mr Abdulla Murad Al Balooshi, GAL chief executive officer. “The deep level of experience that Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology provides is unparalleled, and GAL’s sponsorship of the program highlights our commitment to Emiratization and strengthening the UAE’s defence industry.”
